AttoLCS

Enhances the capabilities of AttoEPC by adding 4G Location Based Services.

// technology

AttoLCS is based on the 3GPP defined SMLC

It is used to provide Location Services within an LTE core network. In conjunction with AttoEPCs, it allows the operator of a mobile network to track the locations of any of the UEs in the network.

4G Location

No need to download any application or software

AttoLCS obtains the UE location over the LTE control plane and hence UEs can be tracked without needing to install and run any application software.

License based

AttoLCS is license based on the number of supported eNodeBs.

GPS option

Optionally, a GPS device can be plugged into the AttoLCS. This can then be used to provide assistance data to the UEs and hence allow them to report their position more quickly when they are first switched on.

Used in backpack applications

AttoLCS can be used with a single AttoEPC and single eNodeB in backpack applications. A laptop or tablet connected to the AttoLCS can view a graphical display of the locations of all the backpack users. With appropriate permissions, the UEs attached to the AttoEPC can also view the locations of other users.

Used in a mesh environnement

AttoLCS can be used in a mesh environment to track the locations of users while handling intermittent connectivity between nodes within the mesh. Each Mesh Node contains an AttoLCS an AttoEPC and an eNodeB and can deliver localized LTE coverage when isolated or can operate as part of a larger network.

The AttoLCS provides a graphical display of the locations of all the users of the Mesh Node. With appropriate permissions, the UEs attached to the Mesh Node can also view the locations of other users. An optional central AttoLCS can gather the UE locations from all the distributed Mesh Nodes if and when there is network connectivity.

Used as a more traditional SMLC connected to multiple AttoEPCs

AttoLCS can also be used as a more traditional SMLC connected to multiple AttoEPCs. The AttoLCS can display the locations of all the users on all the EPCs. Each AttoEPC can display the locations of all the users connected to the local EPC.
